Workshop Overview:
Songs for Peace is a joyful, collaborative songwriting workshop designed to inspire children ages 7–12 to explore the power of music as a tool for kindness, empathy, and community. Led by experienced songwriter, storyteller, and educator April Eight, this workshop invites young participants to co-create original songs that express their hopes for a more peaceful world.
Through interactive games, guided lyric writing, melody creation, and group singing, children will be empowered to share their voices in meaningful ways. No musical experience is necessary—just imagination, curiosity, and a willingness to work together.
Workshop Goals:
Cultivate creativity and self-expression through collaborative songwriting
Explore themes of peace, kindness, inclusion, and community
Develop listening and teamwork skills
Build confidence through shared musical creation
Celebrate each child's unique contribution to the final song
