Well, Spring has Sprung here in Cincinnati, Ohio, where I live. Birds are singing, trees are blooming, crocuses and daffodils are greeting these warmer days with their beauty and good cheer. Hooray! It is ALMOST my favorite month of the year!
But before we greet our delightful Spring, let’s take a minute to see the joy that Winter brought to us at the April Eight Songs and Stories Podcast. I have to tell you, these stories are some of my favorite ones I’ve written and I’m so glad I got to share them with dear you.
“Winter Songs & Stories – Snowflakes” – I really love the “Snowflake Fairies” Song in this story and I know a lot of you do too. I have had more than a few children tell me it is “hypnotizing” – a little bit like watching snowflakes fall all morning from your favorite window. If you haven’t heard this one, you can listen right here, or on iTunes, Stitcher, iHeartRadio or GooglePlay.
Oh “Meggie and Felix and the Snowy Little Minute“! How I love these siblings! Has anyone ever had a friend who doesn’t really want to go with you to do something, but once you finally get him there, he never wants to leave? Yup. That’s Felix. I like sledding bunnies! This story was partly inspired by a Frog and Toad story. Do you know which one? Listen here, or on iTunes, Stitcher, iHeartRadio or GooglePlay.
This one is probably MY FAVORITE story I’ve written and shared so far 😉 I love “Grammy and the Star Soup“! Grammy tells her dear grandchildren a little story about a wintery night walk she took with her dad so many years ago. They saw much more than stars…. and this one also has one of my favorite songs I’ve written, The Night of the Fairy IceSkating Ball, in it. Did you know that when fairies are happy they howl? Listen here, or on iTunes, Stitcher, iHeartRadio or GooglePlay.
In “Sander and the Lost Giant“, a boy and his dog, (one of them is wearing a sweater and boots and it’s not Sander! ) go out on a winter’s day to see what the world has to offer them. And, you might be able to guess by the title, they end up making a new friend who needs a little help. Listen here, or on iTunes, Stitcher, iHeartRadio or GooglePlay.
Did you know that Grammy is friends with a leprechaun? Neither did her grandchildren! In “Birdie and the Unexpected Guest“, the children’s dog Birdie finds him in Grammy’s living room. He’s come to hide out from all of those leprechaun traps kids are setting all over the world right around St. Patrick’s Day. He’s got stories to tell and a few limericks to share. A fun tale for your family no matter what time of year. Listen here, or on iTunes, Stitcher, iHeartRadio or GooglePlay.
“A Little Minute about a Little Minute” – well, first off, what IS a little minute? We discuss. And also a silly song, a poem, a few birthday hellos and a thank you or two. All the good stuff in just a little minute of love from me to you! Listen here, or on iTunes, Stitcher, iHeartRadio or GooglePlay.
And that was Winter – I had so much fun and I hope you did too. Which April Eight Songs & Stories story is your favorite? I’d love to know in the comments below!
Now on to Spring, joy of joys of joys! I took a little minute to spend Spring Break with my family. I’ll have a new story for you next week. I can’t wait to share it with you!
