My daughter’s glorious school celebrates May Day. What a lovely May morning of singing and dancing under the Maypole. Think singing, wooden flutes, and the joy of a fresh spring air.

The kids enjoy the whole idea of the Maypole – holding onto the colorful streamers and taking a moment to honor Nature’s shift from the blueness of Winter to the pastels of Spring. I must say, I deeply  appreciate the willingness of both boys and girls to be open-hearted in enjoying the day – no one was “too cool” to wear their crowns and do their part. And why not get your May on? Its Spring!

From the Second Graders –

to the Eighth Graders!

The Fourth Graders had the honor of weaving the Maypole  and closing out the ceremony.

I feel so lucky to be a part of this wonderful school!
